**Job Description Summary**

Are you ready to take the lead in designing cutting-edge software architectures for data acquisition systems used in aircraft engine testing? Join our Data Acquisition Systems team and revolutionize how we acquire, store, manage, and process test data. You'll evaluate both vendor and in-house systems, explore new technologies, and spearhead software development efforts to advance our test cell systems. **Job Description**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

+ **Collaborative Design and Evaluation:** Work with a talented team to design, procure, and evaluate data systems and software for acquiring, processing, and storing instrumentation data from engine and rig tests.

+ **Customer Engagement:** Assess current systems and interact with customers to identify and communicate shortfalls and enhancement opportunities for next-generation systems.

+ **Innovation Tracking:** Stay updated on the latest advancements within your technical specialty to enhance performance, reduce costs, and resolve issues.

+ **Validation Testing:** Execute laboratory and field validation tests to evaluate and validate test cell software systems.

+ **Design Reviews and Documentation:** Participate in design reviews and create technical documentation in line with engineering policies and procedures.

+ **Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:** Use your judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

+ **Team Leadership and Consensus Building:** Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, lead small projects, explain complex information, and build consensus.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

**Desired Characteristics**

+ Experience designing and integrating complex software systems.

+ Knowledge of cloud-enabled and cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka/Pulsar, and Hadoop.

+ Software development experience with languages such as Java, C/C++ and Python.

+ Familiarity with integrating, storing, or processing time-series data from diverse sources.

+ Proficiency in developing data acquisition, sensor data management, or stream processing software.

+ Expertise in owning and executing technical roadmaps, developing state-of-the-art systems, and planning long-term support for legacy systems.

+ Experience using modern development tools and processes for software product design.

+ Strong team-focused mentality with proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

+ Ability to communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences in a clear and actionable manner.

+ Established project management skills.

+ Active or eligible for a US DoD Security Clearance.
