City of New York Department of Finance (DOF) seeks a seasoned Business Intelligence Developer to design, build, and optimize BI solutions using Power BI and Business Objects. You will work with the FIT Data Integration and BI team to deliver dashboards and reports that drive actionable insights for city services.
The role requires 5+ years in BI reporting, strong SQL skills, and experience with WebI, Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server.
NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
DOF’s Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division designs, builds, and supports all facets of DOF’s computer systems, including hardware, software, applications, infrastructure, telephone, and data security.
FIT delivers and administers tax-related payment programs for the City of New York by providing the information technology solutions needed to achieve its mission of collecting revenue while ensuring an efficient and improved customer experience. FIT is also responsible for the systems and websites which enable citywide payments, land records, property assessment, parking adjudications, customer service, and the Sheriff’s public safety work.
FIT’s Web Application and Data Warehouse Development and Support unit, seeks a Business Intelligence Developer for the FIT Data Integration and Business Intelligence Team (FIT DIBI). The Business Intelligence Developer will use Power BI and Business Objects to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to help stakeholders glean business and operational insights from data. In addition, the successful candidate will be directly involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle for the reporting team and will work closely with the Data Integration team. Applicants should be experienced in enterprise business visualization and reporting using Power BI and Business Objects and well versed in Structured Query Language (SQL).

This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed between the City and the Collective Bargaining Unit representing employees serving in the civil service title.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or,
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
