Job summary

NYC Department of Finance is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer for the FIT Data Integration and BI Team. You will build dashboards and reports using Power BI and Business Objects, collaborate across IT, and participate in the full software development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes BI visualization, SQL proficiency, and effective communication with stakeholders; remote work up to two days per week is possible under the pilot program.

Qualifications

• Experience in BI reporting, dashboards and SQL is required.
• Min. 5+ years with Business Objects and Power BI; Crystal Reporting is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and format reports on WebI.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server databases.
• Strong collaboration and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing and implementation of BI solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define requirements and ensure delivery.
• Create interaction models and interface designs for IT projects.
• Test dashboards and reports to meet usability and technical requirements.
• Document and maintain dashboards and provide user support.
• Communicate project status to management and stakeholders.
