Job summary

Arnold & Porter seeks a Senior Manager, Business Development Training to design and execute a firmwide BD training program. The role partners with the Chief BD & Marketing Officer and others to create multi-tier curricula and ensure consistent, high-impact programming across offices.

The position may be based in New York or Washington, DC, and involves delivering both internal and external sessions, with opportunities to oversee a mix of virtual and in-person formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years in business development or attorney professional development.
• Experience coaching attorneys or supporting BD plans.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and AI productivity tools.
• Instructional design and adult learning expertise.
• Experience designing or leading BD training in professional services.
• Strong communication and cross-stakeholder collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to firm offices.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a multi-level BD curriculum with tracks for associates and partners.
• Deliver select sessions and oversee internal and external programs.
• Collaborate with PD, Diversity & Inclusion, and other teams to integrate BD training.
• Lead onboarding training for lateral partners and associates.
• Define success metrics and report program effectiveness to leadership.
