Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development Training to design and deliver a firmwide BD training program across associates and partners, ensuring alignment with client strategy and growth objectives.

The role partners with senior BD leaders to shape content, oversees both internal and external sessions, and measures outcomes to drive consistent, high‑impact programming across New York and Washington, DC offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or attorney professional development in professional services.
• Experience coaching attorneys or supporting business development plans.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, experience management tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Strong leadership and project management across multiple programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a multi-level BD curriculum with tracks for associates and partners.
• Develop learning paths from foundational to advanced BD capabilities.
• Partner with Directors to align content with group priorities and attorney development plans.
• Lead annual BD training calendar; manage scheduling, logistics, and delivery across offices.
• Facilitate sessions and coordinate programs delivered by internal and external facilitators.
• Collaborate with PD, Diversity & Inclusion, and other teams to integrate BD training into development initiatives.
• Lead onboarding training for lateral partners and associates to align with BD culture.
