Job summary

Dade County Federal Credit Union in Miami, FL seeks a Business Development Specialist to drive SEG growth and strengthen relationships with business owners, employees, and department leaders to promote Credit Union products and services and achieve monthly membership goals.

You will meet with SEGs and community partners, travel to offsite locations, and participate in trade shows and events, including evenings and weekends, to expand membership and deposits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• 2–4 years sales experience and 2–4 years in financial services (Banking/Credit Union).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a plan to generate membership leads beyond the SEG list.
• Prospect, network, and build long-term community relationships to increase deposits and membership.
• Represent the Credit Union at trade shows, community events, Chamber functions, networking events, seminars, and sponsored activities, including evenings and weekends.
• Identify, qualify, and acquire new SEGs by presenting Credit Union membership to prospective management teams.
• Schedule and conduct regular SEG visits, including employee presentations and Credit Union Days.
• Promote visits through flyers, email bulletins, and other materials.
• Coordinate SEG marketing materials and support from the nearest branch.
• Open accounts in Episys while following all applicable regulations.
• Resolve member complaints and communicate outcomes to members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Starting Salary

Starting $61,600.00 per year

Description

Drive membership and product growth by developing and strengthening relationships with current and prospective Select Employee Groups (SEGs). Meet with business owners, employees, and department leaders to promote Credit Union products and services and achieve monthly membership goals.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a plan to generate membership leads beyond the Credit Union's current SEG list.
• Prospect, network, and build long-term community relationships using an organic approach to increase deposits and membership.
• Represent the Credit Union at trade shows, community events, Chamber functions, networking events, seminars, and sponsored activities, including evenings and weekends.
• Identify, qualify, and acquire new SEGs by presenting Credit Union membership to prospective management teams.
• Schedule and conduct regular SEG visits, including employee presentations, table setups, and half- or full-day Credit Union Days, to enroll members and promote loans, online banking, bill pay, and other current products and services.
• Promote visits in advance through flyers, email bulletins, and other materials.
• Coordinate SEG marketing materials, required forms, and support from the nearest branch when needed.
• Open accounts in Episys while following all applicable regulations and procedures.
• Resolve member complaints received through SEGs and communicate outcomes to members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Two to four years sales experience, possess strong sales and service skill and demonstrate success in generating new business leads and meeting sales goals.
• Two to four years experience in financial services industry (Banking/Credit Union).
• Ability to travel to offsite locations in personal vehicle and work flexible hours.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills on a one-to-one basis as well as with a group.
• Excellent Telephone sales skills.
• Must be PC literate.
• Knowledge of banking CRM programs required.

Education And Training

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field or work experience that demonstrates skills and education necessary to fulfill this position.

Language Skills

• Bilingual in English/Spanish required. Creole or French preferred.
• Excellent writing skills in English. Spanish writing skills preferred.
