Job summary

CBRE seeks a Senior Director of Business Development for its IA&R platform to drive sustained growth by expanding current client relationships and acquiring new ones. You will articulate the platform's end-to-end capabilities, including fund and property accounting, data management, and related services, to senior leadership and prospective clients.

You will lead proposal development, pricing, and cross-functional collaboration with finance, product, and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in real estate, investment management, fund administration, accounting, or related services.
  • Established relationships with Real Estate Investment Managers and/or large Owner/Operators.
  • Ability to engage CFOs, COOs, Controllers, Heads of Fund Accounting, and senior investment leadership.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global organization and influencing across sales, product, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by expanding existing IA&R client relationships and increasing geographic coverage across the platform.
  • Originate and close new client relationships with Real Estate Investment Managers and sophisticated Owner/Operators.
  • Own the full BD lifecycle: prospecting, relationship development, solution design, proposals, and negotiation.
  • Partner with IA&Rs leadership, product, operations and client service teams to develop targeted account strategies.
  • Articulate IA&R’s value as a portfolio-wide accounting and data platform for global real estate assets, funds and regions.
  • Attend industry forums and conferences as a senior external representative for IA&R.
  • Stay informed on trends in real estate investment, data integration, and global operating models.
  • Attend industry conferences to build CBRE market awareness and lead marketing efforts.
  • Respond to RFPs with high-quality proposals and complete pricing in partnership with Finance.
  • Coordinate with Client Service and Onboarding to identify servicing teams and assist onboarding.

CBRE’sInvestment Accounting & Reporting (IA&R) business is seeking a SeniorDirector of Business Development to drive sustained growth through expansion ofexisting client relationships and acquisition of new clients to the IA&Rplatform. This role is critical to advancing IA&R’s position as a strategicpartner to leading Real Estate Investment Managers and Owner/Operators seekinginstitutional-grade, scalable accounting and data solutions.


TheSenior Director will be responsible for generating revenue by deepeningexisting partnerships and originating new client relationships, positioningIA&R’s end to end capabilities across fund and property accounting, datamanagement, and related services. The role requires a senior commercialprofessional who can engage credibly with investment, finance, and operationsleadership and translate complex client needs into differentiated,platform-based solutions.


WhatYou'll Do:


  • Drive revenue growth through strategic expansion of existing IA&R client relationships, identifying opportunities to increase scope and geographic coverage across the platform.


  • Originate and close new client relationships, with a focus on Real Estate Investment Managers and sophisticated Owner/Operators requiring scalable, technology-enabled accounting and reporting services.


  • Own the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, relationship development, solution design, proposal development, and commercial negotiation.


  • Partner closely with IA&R leadership, product owners, operations, and client service teams to develop targeted account strategies and ensure commercially viable, executable solutions.


  • Clearly articulate IA&R’s value proposition as a portfolio-wide accounting and data platform, enabling complex real estate organizations with global footprints to achieve consistency, transparency, and scalability across assets, funds, and regions.


  • Act as a senior external representative for the IA&R platform in client meetings, industry forums, and select conferences.


  • Maintain a strong understanding of trends impacting real estate investment and operating platforms, including portfolio scale, data integration, and global operating model evolution.


  • Build CBRE market awareness by attending industry conferences and meetings, including proactive establishment of marketing efforts.


  • Respond in a timely fashion to RFPs with high quality proposal materials, working in close partnership with other IA&R colleagues. Complete pricing and proposals for new business in partnership with Finance.


  • Work with Client Service and Onboarding to identify appropriate client servicing team and assist onboarding process.


  • Focus on key initiatives, create business cases for budgets, and reserve investments to align operational units towards common business development goals.


  • Significantly impact the design of policies and procedures. Define the direction for products, processes, standards, or business plans based on business strategy.



WhatYou'll Need:


  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university and 15+ years of relevant experience.


  • Demonstrated success driving growth in institutional real estate, investment management, fund administration, accounting, or adjacent professional services environments.


  • Established relationships with Real Estate Investment Managers and/or large Owner/Operators, with a track record of converting relationships into long-term, platform-based engagements.


  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage CFOs, COOs, Controllers, Heads of Fund Accounting, and senior investment leadership.


  • Experience operating effectively in a matrixed, global organization and influencing across sales, product, and delivery teams.


  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex business documents.


  • Ability to effectively respond to sophisticated inquiries or concerns from clients and colleagues.


  • Strong interpersonal abilities, including experience working efficiently across large complex teams.


  • Extensive knowledge of financial terms and principles and experience conducting basic financial analysis.


  • Ability to interpret multiple sources of data to create threads of opportunity or value creation.


  • Independent judgment skills to determine methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for measuring success.


  • Proven experience of leveraging AI to increase productivity and ensure the highest quality deliverables for clients and prospects.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $250,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $300,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
