Job description

Good Systems is the parent company behind Goodnotes, where millions of people capture and develop their ideas.
Goodnotes is where we started, and it’s now the foundation for a growing family of products. By reimagining how we interact with information, we’re bringing together human creativity and the breakthrough capabilities of AI.
We build products that help people turn good thinking into good work.

Our Values:

Dream big - Be visionary, strategic, and open to innovation
Build great things - Work in service of our users, always improving and pushing higher
Operate like an owner - Take responsibility with bold decision-making and bias for action
Win like a sports team - Be trusting and collaborative while empowering others

Share our passion - Share ideas and practice enthusiasm and joy
Be user obsessed - Empathetic, inquisitive, practical

About the team:

You will be joining our B2B team, working to bring Goodnotes into professional industries across international markets. The USA is one of our key growth markets, and Architecture, Engineering & Construction is the sector we are breaking into first.

This is not an established territory with a playbook already written. You will help write it. The accounts you open and the conversations you run set the template for how Goodnotes grows in AEC going forward.

About the role:

As our Business Development Representative, you will drive top-of-funnel pipeline generation across the USA, hunting down and qualifying fresh opportunities before handing off Sales-Qualified Leads (SQLs) to our Account Executive team for development.

This role puts you at the front of Goodnotes' expansion into the US Architecture, Engineering & Construction market. You will take ownership of the earliest conversations with prospects and define what a new market looks like from the ground up.

You will work directly with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Product, and your outreach gets the engine moving. You will run targeted outbound campaigns, chase down inbound leads, and use data (plus a healthy dose of curiosity) to keep sharpening your approach
This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:

  • Own your pipeline: Take full responsibility for prospecting and outbound activity across your territory - researching target accounts, identifying key decision-makers, and building a consistent flow of qualified opportunities for the AE team.
  • Generate and qualify SQLs: Conduct high-volume, high-quality outreach across all relevant channels to engage prospects, run discovery conversations, demo Goodnotes and our new products, qualifying leads before passing them to Account Executives.
  • Execute multi-channel sequences: Design and run structured outbound sequences that combine personalized messaging, calls, and social touches, using data to iterate.
  • Educate and spark curiosity: Act as a knowledgeable first point of contact for prospects, helping them understand what Goodnotes is and why it matters for their business.
  • Support field and digital events: Represent Goodnotes at US-based industry events, webinars, and conferences to generate pipeline through in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Feed the feedback loop: Share structured insights to Marketing and Product including common objections, competitor mentions, use cases, and messaging that resonates. Your feedback directly influences our direction.
  • Leverage data to prioritize: Use HubSpot CRM and sales intelligence tools to manage your pipeline, track activity, and prioritize outreach based on territory data and account signals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Marketing on campaign follow-up and lead hand-offs, and with Account Executives to align on ideal customer profiles, messaging, and territory strategy.

The skills you will need to be successful in the above:

  • A minimum of 1 years experience in a BDR, SDR, or outbound sales role, within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding SQL or pipeline generation targets
  • Fluent English speaker, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the US enterprise landscape, including how buying decisions are made across different industries and company sizes
  • Comfort and confidence with cold outreach across channels, self-motivated with the resilience to handle rejection with a positive mindset
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM
  • Ability to quickly grasp and articulate a product's value proposition in a compelling, tailored way
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of accounts and outreach sequences simultaneously
  • Familiarity with AI tools and workflows as part of a modern prospecting motion is a strong plus

Preferred

  • Spanish language skills are a bonus

Even if you don’t meet all the criteria listed above, we would still love to hear from you! Goodnotes places a lot of value on learning and development and will support your growth if needed.

The interview process:
  • An introductory call with Talent Acquisition. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join Goodnotes
  • Take Home Assignment
  • A role-specific call to discuss your background and skillset for this role more in detail
  • A call with your hiring manager to discuss your BD experience. This is the person who will be managing you day to day, working on your growth and development with you, as well as support you throughout your career at Goodnotes
  • A meet-the-team call with 2 or 3 Goodpeople you’d be working closely with at Goodnotes
  • An AI Literacy interview to gauge your understanding and use of AI tools
What’s in it for you:
  • Competitive commission
  • Budget for things like noise-canceling headphones, setting up your home office, personal development, professional training, and health & wellness
  • Sponsored visits to our Hong Kong or London offices
  • Company-wide annual offsite
  • Flexible working hours and location
  • Medical insurance for you and your dependents

Goodnotes is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, making all employment decisions based strictly on merit, qualifications, and business needs.

Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.
