The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an entry level inside sales representative that focuses on outreach, prospecting, and subscription renewal processing. The BDR will learn Vastian's processes to scope client needs, discover and expand new business opportunities and provide the sales team with follow-up tasks. A successful candidate will be a strongly self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical, and can effectively interact with a team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Prospect Identification and Outreach

Research and identify potential Vastian customers using CRM tools, professional resources and media, and other prospecting methods.
Reach out to prospects through cold calls, emails, and business media to initiate conversations.
Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and determine their fit with Vastian's offerings.

Lead Nurturing

Build relationships with prospects to maintain interest and engagement over time.
Schedule meetings or demos with qualified prospects.
Maintain detailed records of all interactions in Salesforce

Collaboration with Sales Team

Work closely with the sales team to align on Vastian ideal customer profiles and target accounts.
Provide detailed notes and context on qualified leads to ensure smooth handoffs.
Participate in sales team meetings to update on lead generation progress and share insights.

Pipeline Management

Track and manage lead progress through the sales funnel.
Follow up with prospects to address concerns or provide additional information as needed.

Market Research and Insights

Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify new opportunities.
Provide feedback to the Sales and Marketing teams on common objections, customer needs, and market demand.

Performance Metrics and Reporting

Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and lead generation goals (e.g., call volume, emails sent, meetings booked).
Report on lead conversion rates and other KPIs to leadership regularly.

Continuous Improvement

Attend training sessions to improve product knowledge, sales techniques, and market expertise.
Experiment with new outreach methods and tools to optimize lead generation efforts


Qualifications:

  • A deep desire to compete and win with customers

  • Previous medical laboratory, healthcare industry or related experience preferred
  • A commanding desire to learn and succeed in tech sales
  • The ability to write succinct, crisp emails and a great phone manner
  • Ability to gain deep product knowledge and continually learn new features, applications and more.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Experience working with Salesforce
