Job description

Who we are

At Software Improvement Group (SIG), we empower organisations to enhance their software quality through in-depth source code analysis and customised strategic advice. Our software assurance platform, Sigrid, combined with our expert IT consultants, allows our clients to take full control of their software environments. This ensures that their technology becomes a driver of success rather than a source of risk. With a strong market presence and ambitious growth plans for the coming years, we are looking for individuals who want to help us achieve these goals.

Where you come in

As a Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in driving our North American pipeline. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives, the Marketing team, and our consultants to research target accounts, engage with senior technology and business leaders, and transform interest into qualified opportunities. Your responsibilities will include both inbound and outbound activities. This means you will follow up on leads generated by marketing, partners, and our consultants, as well as conduct targeted outreach to Fortune 1000 accounts across the U.S. Alongside your manager, you will establish clear goals for meetings booked, pipeline generated, and opportunities advanced.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct research and create profiles for target accounts, focusing on their organizational structure, technology landscape, and business priorities to develop tailored value propositions.
  • Execute personalized, multi-channel outreach through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and video to engage CIOs, CTOs, and other senior stakeholders (C-level and one level below).
  • Qualify and promptly follow up on inbound leads generated from marketing campaigns, events, partners, and consultants.
  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives and assist with discovery calls and virtual presentations.
  • Identify and map buying committees, fostering relationships with multiple stakeholders to generate momentum in enterprise opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce, including account insights, activities, and next steps.
  • Provide weekly reports on the pipeline, activities, and results, highlighting successful strategies and areas where you need support.
  • Represent SIG at U.S. industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Consistently scheduling qualified meetings that turn into sales-accepted opportunities.
  • Establishing a stronger, well-qualified pipeline across your target accounts.
  • Achieving faster deal velocity in enterprise opportunities.
  • Fostering deeper engagement with buying committees and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating measurable revenue growth from both new and existing customers.
What's in it for you?
  • Competitive base salary plus commission.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) plan that includes a company match.
  • 160 hours of paid vacation per year, in addition to U.S. holidays.
  • A hybrid work schedule with a collaborative office environment in New York.
  • A flat, entrepreneurial culture that encourages initiative and creativity.
  • Colleagues who are among the brightest in the industry; most team members hold a master’s degree, and around 30% possess a Ph.D. in technology or software engineering.
  • Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company in North America.
Job Requirements
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in B2B sales development, business development, or lead generation, preferably selling software or technology services in the U.S.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding meeting and pipeline targets in enterprise accounts with complex multi-stakeholder buying processes.
  • Ability to confidently engage C-level executives and senior IT leaders through phone and written communication, without relying on scripts.
  • Demonstrated resilience and persistence in handling objections calmly and turning them into opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and modern sales engagement tools, along with strong Excel skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with Account Executives and revenue leaders.
  • Genuine curiosity about software and technology, with a commitment to keeping skills current.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have:

  • Experience selling to regulated industries in the U.S., such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
  • Familiarity with the software quality, application security, or developer tooling market and its key players.
