Business Development Representative - National Distribution

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing distribution partners and building organizational competency for the Power Tools and Lifting business unit within Ingersoll Rand. The target customer segments are National Industrial Supply / MRO Accounts, including Wurth Industrial, eBerkshire, White Cap, and Ferguson. The Business Development Representative will drive sales growth and program management activities with channel partners across the United States and Canada. Responsibilities include account management, marketing coordination, tactical execution of the strategic plan, and organizational and analytical judgment specific to Power Tools and Lifting products. Leading, inspiring, training and educating channel partners is required to deliver on the Ingersoll Rand brand promise.

Responsibilities
  • Execute the go-forward strategy and sales growth for assigned accounts.
  • Grow opportunities with assigned accounts at corporate and end‑customer levels within the channel.
  • Develop winning go‑to‑market strategies aligned with growth and margin objectives and lead their execution.
  • Build channel capability, capacity, and competency.
  • Promote a collaborative environment through enhanced communication and engagement with marketing, operations, product management, regional channels, and other stakeholders.
  • Engage at all organizational levels, drive results, and manage channel partners effectively.
  • Use balanced judgment, business acumen, and customer‑centric insight to manage strategic channel programs, sales coverage, and value creation for Industrial Technologies and partners.
  • Develop and deliver formal training for sales professionals, covering product/application knowledge and business communication skills.
  • Coordinate with marketing or other business unit resources to resolve pricing, product application, specifications, and warranty issues.
  • Measure distributor performance and implement improvement programs for parts and services revenue.
  • Collaborate on and manage promotional programs.
  • Collect and report competitor trends and strategies to channel‑partner and market leaders.
  • Seek out and participate in formal and informal training opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Marketing, or Business Administration. If a bachelor's degree is not held, 5+ years of account management or customer‑experience experience in an industrial manufacturing environment will be considered.

Pay Range

The total pay range for this role, excluding incentive opportunities, is $70,000 – $90,000, based on skills, experience, training, certification, and other business factors. Geographic differential adjustments may apply.
