Business Development Representative – National Distribution

Location: Remote (Eastern or Mid-Western Region of US)

Job Summary: This position is responsible for managing distribution partners and building organizational competency for the Power Tools and Lifting business unit within Ingersoll Rand. The target customer segments are National Industrial Supply / MRO Accounts, including Wurth Industrial, eBerkshire, White Cap, and Ferguson. The Business Development Representative drives sales growth and program management activities with channel partners in the United States and Canada. Responsibilities include account management, marketing, tactical execution of strategic plans, and leading training and education of channel partners to deliver on the Ingersoll Rand brand promise.

Responsibilities
  • Execute go-forward strategy and drive sales growth of assigned accounts.
  • Create and expand opportunities with assigned accounts at corporate and channel levels to end customers.
  • Develop winning go-to-market strategies aligned with growth and margin objectives and lead execution.
  • Build channel capability, capacity and competency.
  • Promote a collaborative environment through enhanced communication and engagement with marketing, operations, product management, regional channels and other stakeholders.
  • Engage at all levels within customer organizations; deliver goal-oriented results.
  • Manage strategic channel programs through business planning and sales and service coverage to create value for Industrial Technologies and selected channel partners.
  • Develop and deploy formal training for sales professionals regarding product application, business acumen, and presentation skills.
  • Coordinate with marketing or other business unit resources to resolve pricing, product, specifications, and warranty issues.
  • Measure distributor performance and implement improvement programs for revenue and services.
  • Build, collaborate and manage promotional programs.
  • Collect and report competitor trends and strategies to channel partners and marketing groups.
  • Actively pursue formal and informal training opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Marketing or Business Administration. Candidates lacking a bachelor’s degree must have five or more years of account management or customer experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Travel & Work Arrangements
  • Flexible working location within the Eastern or Midwestern US region, fully remote.
  • Travel between 10% and 20% of time.
Pay Range

The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $70,000 – $90,000. This range considers factors such as skill, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs.
