Job description

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

Our New Business team at Plaid combines deep product and industry knowledge and is focused on bringing Plaid to an ever-broadening set of businesses. Our thesis is that every institution in the banking and wealth management ecosystem can benefit from better financial technology, and that many traditional financial firms that don't currently consider themselves to be fintech actually need to operate like one to win.

You’ll be the one helping us achieve this vision. As a New Business Representative for our Banking & Wealth (B&W) segment, you’ll forge the path to finding new clients and prospecting traditional banks, credit unions, wealth‑tech platforms, and digital brokerages for us to target. We are looking for extraordinary sales professionals with SaaS/tech and/or outbound selling experience who can demonstrate the added value of Plaid and what impact it can have on modernizing the banking and investment experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for organizational mapping, prospecting individuals, driving engagement, setting opportunities for AEs, taking qualification calls, and nurturing early opportunities. The ideal candidate is customer‑centric, resilient, challenges the status quo, and has a deep interest in advancing their career in fintech sales.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a key member of the Plaid GTM Team, supporting several Account Executives hunting new business within the Banking & Wealth verticals.
  • Liaise with Marketing to provide feedback on B&W‑specific campaigns and design new outbound efforts.
  • Identify prospects and build pipelines through outbound campaigns targeted at decision‑makers in digital banking, wealth management, and brokerage operations.
  • Help new clients get started with Plaid and answer questions about our products, specifically around account funding, investment data, and open banking connectivity.
  • Identify the most promising sub‑verticals (e.g., credit unions, RIA platforms, digital brokerages) to drive increased revenue opportunity.
Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years of experience in pipeline development and/or sales (preferably at a SaaS or Fintech company).
  • Leading high‑level conversations with banking and wealth‑management stakeholders.
  • Ability to evangelize Plaid’s value proposition to assess buying interest from traditional and modern financial institutions alike.
  • Ability to thrive in a high‑customer volume, time‑sensitive environment.
  • Having a relentless mindset and unwillingness to quit.
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce.com or other CRM.
  • Experience working with customers and explaining technical products. Strong interest in the financial services industry, market trends, and technical products; a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Excitement to work in a high‑growth environment and help build processes and tools as needed.
  • Desire to get (more) technical and ability to learn the ins and outs of Plaid's APIs (specifically our Investments, Auth, and Identity products).

Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
