JOB STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000 (Depending on skills and knowledge)

LOCATION: Omaha, NE (Remote) - Must be located in or near Omaha

REPORTS TO: Regional Sales Director

Job Summary

Are you a solutions-based sales professional focused on building long-term relationships, not short-term transactional sales? CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our team of self-motivated, results-driven sales professionals. The Business Development Representative pursues new sales opportunities and maintains current accounts within an assigned territory by providing innovative freight solutions through principles and relationships, to achieve universal prosperity. Develops, recommends, and implements sales programs designed to improve services, meet sales goals, and increase profitability. Assists in developing sales and marketing objectives and programs.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Identifies leads, calls on prospective customers, and manages partnerships with existing customers within an assigned territory to meet sales targets.
  2. Gains the trust and respect of customer decision-makers by applying logistics expertise to anticipate and solve transportation challenges.
  3. Develops mutually beneficial relationships with customers, including multiple points of contact between CCFS and the customer.
  4. Learns the customer’s business, competitive environment, transportation needs, and selection process; serves as an expert advisor on business-related matters.
  5. Learns and effectively communicates CCFS’ value propositions to existing and prospective customers.
  6. Closes new business deals by developing and negotiating contracts and coordinating with operations.
  7. Maintains regular communication with customers to ensure their needs are met and collaborates closely with operations.
  8. Communicates customer issues and opportunities with relevant team members to resolve conflicts.
  9. Strategizes with other departments to develop and conduct annual contract reviews and negotiates implementation with customers.
  10. Uses CCFS tools, analyzes data, and tracks account sales activity to organize and manage the territory efficiently.
  11. Utilizes Salesforce to manage daily activities, pipeline progress, and share information with team members and managers.
  12. Shares strategies, techniques, and opportunities with other sales team members for mutual benefit.
  13. Communicates market conditions and customer insights across relevant functions and departments.
Minimum Requirements
  1. 3+ years of experience in sales or relevant industry experience.
  2. Self-motivated and results-driven.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision-making skills.
  4. High emotional and cognitive intelligence.
  5. Ability to understand CCFS markets, contracts, pricing publications, competitors, infrastructure, and systems.
  6. Knowledge of transportation industry behavior, pricing mechanisms, and costing systems.
