CourseStorm is a fast-growing SaaS company on a mission to connect as many people as possible to lifelong learning. Since 2012, our powerful class registration, enrollment management, and marketing platform has helped nonprofits, schools, and community organizations attract learners and make education more accessible. To date, we’ve powered over 1.5 million connections to education, and we’re just getting started.

We combine the energy and opportunity of a startup with the strength and stability of a profitable company and an experienced leadership team. If you’re excited to grow your career in tech sales while making a meaningful impact, CourseStorm is the place for you.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help generate new opportunities for CourseStorm. You’ll research potential customers, start conversations, uncover business challenges, and create qualified meetings for our Account Executives.

This role is designed as a launchpad into SaaS sales, with hands‑on coaching, training, and mentorship to help you develop into an exceptional sales professional.

What You’ll Do
  • Research and identify organizations that could benefit from CourseStorm, and develop strategic outbound plans for your book of accounts.
  • Generate qualified pipeline through cold calling, personalized email, LinkedIn, and other creative prospecting strategies while meeting daily outreach and pipeline goals.
  • Build relationships with decision‑makers through thoughtful conversations that uncover business challenges and goals, and schedule qualified discovery meetings for Account Executives.
  • Partner with Account Executives to build pipeline, improve conversion rates, and share insights that help the team succeed.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, track prospect activity and performance metrics, and identify opportunities to improve your results.
  • Develop expertise in CourseStorm’s platform, value proposition, customers, competitors, and broader market trends.
  • Learn and practice modern outbound sales techniques, including cold calling, discovery, objection handling, and stakeholder mapping.
  • Participate in regular coaching, call reviews, and role‑playing sessions, applying feedback quickly to continuously improve your approach.
What We’re Looking For

Previous outbound sales experience is preferred, but not required. We’re looking for people with the drive, curiosity, and coachability to become exceptional SaaS sales professionals.

You’ll likely thrive here if you are:

  • Coachable and eager to learn. You seek feedback, apply it quickly, and enjoy developing new skills.
  • Hungry to build a career in SaaS sales. You’re motivated by goals, continuous improvement, and the opportunity to grow.
  • Curious and thoughtful. You ask good questions and seek to understand before offering solutions.
  • Creative. You look for personalized, compelling ways to stand out and earn a prospect’s attention.
  • Comfortable with outbound. You’re willing to pick up the phone, start conversations, and stay resilient when you hear “no.”
  • Hardworking and consistent. You believe sustained effort creates opportunities and take ownership of your results.
  • A strong communicator and teammate. You communicate clearly, share ideas, and enjoy helping others succeed.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in outbound sales, customer service, fundraising, recruiting, business development, SaaS, education, or nonprofit organizations is a plus. Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce is also helpful.

Why Join CourseStorm?

You’ll get hands‑on coaching from an experienced sales leader, ownership of your territory and pipeline from day one, and a clear opportunity to grow into an Account Executive role and beyond. All while helping organizations connect more people to lifelong learning.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • Remote‑first flexibility (U.S.-based role with occasional travel to Maine).
  • Comprehensive health benefits, retirement plan, parental leave, and take‑what‑you‑need PTO.
  • A mission‑driven culture where your work directly helps expand access to lifelong learning.
  • A company recognized as one of the Best Places to Work.
Our Hiring Philosophy

We believe everyone has a role to play in building a better world through education. The unique experiences, perspectives, and talents of our team members aren’t just welcomed, they’re essential to our success.
