The role of a Business Development Representative at Canonical

We consider our sales development organization to be the best technology sales academy in the market, selecting exceptional and ambitious candidates. If you are organized, persistent, charismatic, and hardworking, and interested in tech and its business implications, this role is for you. You will collaborate with regional sales and marketing teams, aiming to find customer projects fitting our product lines and to promote Canonical across various industries and geographies.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Executing outbound sales & marketing campaigns
  2. Researching prospective customers and market trends
  3. Generating high-quality leads for senior sales staff
  4. Owning and closing SMB opportunities within your territory
  5. Collaborating across teams and with senior stakeholders
  6. Helping define team processes and policies
  7. Traveling to events and conferences worldwide to present and generate face-to-face opportunities
Qualifications and qualities we seek:
  • Success in SDR or outbound sales, exceeding quotas and growing pipelines
  • Experience engaging with senior executives to identify opportunities
  • Experience in enterprise software or tech sales
  • Strong academic record from high school and university
  • Passion for business and technology
