SpartanNash is offering a 12-week paid internship in Grand Rapids, MI from May to August. As an intern you will gain hands-on experience in wholesale grocery operations, work with the National Accounts team, and develop presentations, reports, and marketing content.

You'll be mentored by a dedicated mentor and buddy, join professional development workshops, and have opportunities to network with managers across the organization while contributing to real projects and events.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Sophomore year completed by start of internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Majoring in Sales, Marketing or related field.
• Proficient with Google’s suite; Excel proficiency required.

Position Overview

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other interns and C&S employees to expand your network, participate in professional development opportunities, and enjoy some fun activities!

Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.

• Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.

• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.

• Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.

• Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies

• Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities

• Develop positive professional relationships across departments

• Complete special projects as assigned by your manager

• Complete an end‑of‑internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives

• Support business development and non‑traditional sales growth initiatives for the National Accounts team by researching new sales opportunities, parcel business opportunities, and national RFPs (such as GoPuff and Albertsons).

• Create sales presentations and marketing content, assist with day‑to‑day work for leads and newly won accounts, support e‑commerce shop development and maintenance, and potentially attend 1–2 trade shows during the summer.

• Utilize systems and tools including Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Canva, TikTok, Instagram, and Shopify for presentation design, sales content creation, and e‑commerce shop maintenance.

• Collaborate directly with the supervisor and the National Accounts team, while engaging with external leads and stakeholders.

We’re searching for interns that are:

• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university

• Will have completed their Sophomore year by the start of the internship.

• In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0

• Currently majoring in Sales, Marketing or related field

• Proficient with Google’s suite of products preferred

• Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• Able to work both independently and collaboratively

• Are organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

• Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute
