Summary

ALG Vacations (ALGV), part of Hyatt, is recognized for providing leading leisure travel experiences worldwide. As North America's top vertically integrated travel, hospitality, and leisure management group, we oversee all aspects of vacations, serving over three million passengers annually across various brands offering diverse destinations.

Grow your career as Business Development Manager within ALG Vacations. You will represent and sell Travel Impressions, Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, Southwest Vacations, and Blue Sky Tours in your territory to travel agencies. Your role involves developing strong agency relationships, identifying share shift opportunities, and executing engagement plans to increase revenue. The current territory covers the Coastal States of the West Coast, including CA, OR, WA, NV, HI, and ID, but is subject to change.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop strategic alliances with travel agents and agencies.
  2. Leverage preferred relationships to gain commitments and grow revenue.
  3. Use a consultative sales approach to match agency needs with ALG Vacations' offerings.
  4. Secure revenue commitments and implement plans with agencies.
  5. Maintain engagement plans for top accounts.
  6. Achieve sales targets through effective territory management.
  7. Respond promptly to agent needs and resolve issues.
  8. Represent ALG Vacations at events to cultivate new business.
  9. Create brand loyalty using marketing tools and education.
  10. Utilize reporting tools to analyze profitability and trends.
  11. Promote distribution via the VAX booking platform.
  12. Document activities through sales reporting tools.
  13. Monitor and report on competitive activities.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Travel industry knowledge preferred; transferable sales experience considered.
  • Based in the territory, preferably California, with up to 70% travel required.
  • Strong customer service, marketing, sales, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and reports.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
