As Business Development (BD) Manager, you will lead the growing footprint of the EPI Group across the energy industry, responsible for delivering revenue generation in the North America region for our Sustainable Energy Services market vertical. Initially, the focus will be the offshore wind market, but over time this will expand to include a range of renewable and low-carbon energy technologies. You will be responsible for growing EPI’s business in the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind site investigation, CCS, and geothermal markets in the US energy sector. Our current business is primarily securing contracts for the supply of MMO/PSO/PAM personnel, geotechnical and geophysical (G&G) offshore client representatives, and site investigation project management. Secondary services include UXO risk management, vessel auditing, and recruitment of qualified personnel for projects.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Represent EPI in a manner that aligns to the core integrity of the business by working in a compliant, honest, and ethical manner, showing respect to all those with whom you work, both peers and clients.
  • Drive regional sales that meet the company’s commercial objectives for profit and margin.
  • Create and maintain a sales and business development strategy by which EPI’s offshore renewable services can be successfully sold into the US offshore energy market.
  • Develop/expand long-term client relationships and implement a structured approach to account management for the region.
  • Use own knowledge of the market to educate and mentor other EPI employees.
  • Work in partnership with EPI’s clients to create value through service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with clients and partners to promote EPI’s services.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and provide advice and intelligence that will help EPI create a winning proposal.
  • Register the company on portals and vending sites of future clients as requested.
  • Ensure that the CRM and PSA systems are kept up-to-date and key regional management reporting data for sales is available in a timely fashion with regional variances to norm identified and explained.

Build sources of market intelligence to focus business development and input data into the EPI CRM system. Actively engage with potential clients via meetings, telephone calls, and email to make them aware of EPI’s services and the Company’s positive track record. Attend relevant trade shows, focusing on environmental and offshore wind services. Help develop relevant marketing materials in collaboration with colleagues and consistent with the EPI brand. Scout and review new business opportunities with potential partner companies to build the overall equity value of EPI. Develop ideas for new products and markets, using ideas gained from clients and consultant feedback. Support wider company marketing (news articles, blogs, etc.), internal/external communications, and internal training programs.
