Job Description

Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873. Our ships offer innovative features and enriching experiences focused on destination exploration and personalized travel, inviting guests to savor the journey.

We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Business Development to fill this role. This position is remote but requires travel to sales events in California. You’ll be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals by developing and executing account strategies. You will be directly accountable for revenue production from assigned accounts within a geographic area covering South, Central, and East Florida, promoting company products through on-site sales calls, telephone, and written communication.

Note: While this position is remote, you must be located in Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an account strategy within a geographic territory, incorporating brand strategy in every sales interaction. Meet and exceed all sales goals.
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships aligned with corporate objectives. Turn agency issues into business opportunities with a win-win approach.
  • Lead or participate in trade shows, seminars, FAMs, and industry events as needed. Negotiate group sales contracts to ensure required APD.
  • Manage a professional budget using critical thinking and ROI analysis.
  • Plan and oversee marketing initiatives with partners. Ensure the execution of training and sales plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed agency database using CRM systems.
  • Handle additional projects as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, or a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of relationship-sales experience with a proven track record of revenue growth
  • Experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or similar role
  • Proven sales success
  • Customer support experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Strong time management and planning skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work nights and weekends
  • Planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills
  • Self-starter, team player, capable of working independently
  • Engaging and collaborative attitude
