Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

This is a fully remote role with 75% travel. Candidate can live in any state with most travel in western US states.

Job Summary:
As the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and supporting technical sales efforts with your knowledge in power systems and applications. This role requires a strong understanding of data acquisition technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, researchers, and decision-makers in industries such as energy, electrical engineering, industrial automation and more.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within power-focused sectors (e.g., electric utilities, power electronics, EV testing, renewable energy).
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to align customer needs with our hardware/software offerings.
  • Provide technical consultations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to inform sales strategy.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven knowledge of data acquisition systems and their use in power or electrical applications.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or product management in the data acquisition or test & measurement industry.
  • Experience with power monitoring, energy storage testing, grid simulation, or high-voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols such as IEC, IEEE, Modbus, CAN, or LabVIEW.
  • Strong network in energy, utility, or electrical R&D sectors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
