Our client, a global manufacturer of electronic and electrical components, are looking for a Business Development Manager - Industrial Components to join their team on a permanent basis in the USA.
This is a strategic, globally focused role responsible for driving growth across industrial applications, developing new business opportunities and leading design-in activity across a technical portfolio including HMI, fuses, connectors and other electronic components.
Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager - Industrial Components job in the USA:
- Define and execute global go-to-market strategies across targeted industrial applications and markets.
- Analyse market trends, emerging technologies and competitor activity to identify new growth opportunities.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities in collaboration with regional sales teams.
- Engage directly with engineering and technical stakeholders to drive component specification at PCB and system level.
- Take ownership of revenue growth, market development and gross margin across the assigned segment.
- Translate market intelligence into new product initiatives and application-specific product roadmaps.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with Tier 1 OEMs and technology-focused customers.
- Build strategic partnerships to support new market opportunities and long-term growth.
- Lead cross-functional business development projects alongside Sales, Product Management, R&D and Technology teams.
- Represent the business at relevant industry events, exhibitions and market workshops.
- Support the development of business cases, product specifications and commercial strategies.
- Work closely with marketing to align global messaging and application priorities.
Experience required for the Business Development Manager - Industrial Components job in the USA:
- Several years' experience in Business Development, Product Management, Industry Management or Lead Customer Management.
- Experience within the electronics, electrical, semiconductor or related technical industries.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation; medical sector experience would also be beneficial.
- Proven experience managing key accounts or vertical markets and developing go-to-market strategies.
- Demonstrable success identifying and converting new business opportunities within technical markets.
- Strong understanding of market analysis, competitive benchmarking and innovation management.
- Excellent commercial, analytical, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, R&D and Product Management teams.
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to engage technical and engineering stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Fluent English and willingness to travel globally, up to approximately 30% of the time.
