Job description

The Business Development Manager - Alternative Channels will directly manage and grow strategic partnerships with multiple accounts (alternative and specialty channels of trade) for their assigned territory. Responsibilities include developing and executing strategies to meet and exceed market share goals, sales targets, and related KPIs for assigned accounts. As a Business Development Manager, you will develop strong relationships with assigned retail customers, develop accurate sales forecasts, create annual and joint business plans, and use data to maximize business for HARIBO of America and the assigned accounts/customers/territory.

This is a remote, field-based position that requires up to 40% travel across the United States, with overnight stays. The Business Development Manager - Alternative Channels position requires at least three (3) years of strategic sales and business development experience specifically within the CPG / Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Additionally, prior experience partnering with Brokers, experience with headquarters calls, and a Bachelor's Degree are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans to meet or exceed assigned sales goals for your accounts and territory.
  • Manage and develop relationships with retail customers for HARIBO within the Alternative and Specialty channels.
  • Partner with Brokers and Distributors, leading and collaborating on business plans within your territory.
  • Leverage product mix to improve profitability and meet customer and shopper targets.
  • Utilize data and metrics related to financial, brand, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and others.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of strategic account sales experience within the CPG industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience analyzing syndicated data such as IRI, Circana, Nielsen, Spins, Numerator, etc.
  • Experience with headquarters calls.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% nationwide with overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strategic sales experience in CPG.
  • Experience in FMCG, candy, confectionery, or salty snacks industries.
  • Experience partnering with Brokers and handling multiple trade channels.

Compensation:

Target salary range: $115,000 - $135,000 annually. The actual salary will depend on various factors including education, experience, and location.
