The Business Development Manager - Alternative Channels will directly manage and grow strategic partnerships with multiple accounts (alternative and specialty channels of trade) for their assigned territory. Responsibilities include developing and executing strategies to meet and exceed market share goals, sales targets, and related KPIs for assigned accounts. As a Business Development Manager, you will develop strong relationships with assigned retail customers, develop accurate sales forecasts, create annual and joint business plans, and use data to maximize business for HARIBO of America and the assigned accounts/territory.

This is a remote, field-based position that requires up to 40% travel across the United States, with overnight stays. The Business Development Manager - Alternative Channels position requires at least three (3) or more years of strategic sales and business development experience specifically within the CPG / Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Additionally, prior experience partnering with Brokers, experience with headquarters calls, and a Bachelor's Degree are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans to meet or exceed assigned sales goals for your accounts/territory
  • Own, manage, and develop strong customer (retailer) relationships within the Alternative and Specialty channel of trade
  • Partner with Brokers and Distributors, leading and holding them accountable for business plans in your territory
  • Leverage product mix to improve profitability and meet customer and shopper targets
  • Utilize data on financial, brand, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and others
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of strategic account sales experience within the CPG / Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing syndicated data (e.g., IRI, Circana, Nielsen, Spins, Numerator)
  • Experience with headquarters calls
  • Ability to travel up to 40% nationwide with overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of strategic account sales experience in the CPG industry
  • Experience in FMCG, candy, confectionery, or salty snacks industry
  • Experience partnering with Brokers and managing multiple channels of trade / customers
  • Experience with Alternative and/or Specialty channels
