Job Summary

The Accident & Health (A&H) Affinity/Consumer Business Development Manager is a highly visible position dedicated to achieving new business production. This role focuses on driving new business activity within the Group/Individual AD&D, Accident, and Supplemental Health product suite. The candidate will join a team committed to being a trusted provider of innovative and relevant A&H products, fostering sustainable relationships through a digital experience with superior service and specialized capabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Vet new distribution partners, including traditional & digital major medical, life, health, group benefits, and affinity agencies/brokers.
  2. Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy targeting various segments such as individual, group, association, affinity, membership, and financial institutions.
  3. Achieve growth goals for new business premiums.
  4. Communicate market segment needs, product and service requests, and distribution niche requirements to senior management to facilitate solution development for increased new business.
  5. Collaborate with product development, technology, underwriting, and operations to design and build distribution capabilities and processes for seamless product/service delivery.
  6. Lead the end-to-end onboarding process, including deal submission, compliance vetting, deal structuring with underwriting, and review of marketing materials.
  7. Maintain current competitor information.
  8. Attend key industry conferences locally and nationally.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Deep knowledge of A&H products such as AD&D, Accident Medical, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and other supplemental health products.
  • Understanding of ACA, ICHRA, QSEHRA, limited medical plans, and their distribution channels.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience with 10+ years in sales/brokerage within the A&H affinity/consumer space, working with associations, affinity groups, financial institutions, individuals, and other groups.
  • Experience building an agent/sub-agent network.
  • Experience working with digital insurance aggregators.
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated personality.
  • Strong organizational, communication, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Leadership and negotiation skills, both internally and externally.
  • Strategic planning and organizational leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills to work across stakeholders and drive results.

The salary range for this position is $107,900 - $135,000/year, depending on factors such as location, responsibilities, qualifications, and business needs. The total compensation includes base salary and incentives and is subject to future adjustments.
