Job Summary

The Accident & Health (A&H) Affinity/Consumer Business Development Manager is a highly visible position dedicated to achieving new business production. This role focuses on driving new business activity in the Group/Individual AD&D, Accident, and Supplemental Health product suite. The candidate will join a team whose strategic vision is to be a trusted provider of innovative and relevant A&H products, building sustainable relationships through digital experiences with superior service and specialized capabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Vetting new distribution partners, including traditional and digital major medical, life, health, group benefits, and affinity agencies/brokers.
  2. Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy targeting various segments such as individual, group, association, affinity, membership, and financial institutions.
  3. Achieve new business premium growth goals.
  4. Communicate market segment needs, product and service requests, and distribution niche requirements to senior management to facilitate solution development.
  5. Collaborate with product development, technology, underwriting, and operations to design and build distribution capabilities and processes for seamless product/service delivery.
  6. Lead the end-to-end onboarding process, including deal submission, compliance vetting, deal structuring, and marketing material review.
  7. Maintain up-to-date competitor information.
  8. Attend key local and national industry conferences.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  1. Deep knowledge of A&H products such as AD&D, Accident Medical, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and other supplemental health products.
  2. Understanding of ACA, ICHRA, QSEHRA, and limited medical plans, along with their distribution channels.
  3. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience with 10+ years in sales/broker experience in the A&H Affinity/Consumer space, working with associations, affinity organizations, membership clubs, financial institutions, individuals, and other groups.
  4. Experience building agent/sub-agent networks.
  5. Experience working with digital insurance aggregators.
  6. Results-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated entrepreneurial personality.
  7. Strong organizational, communication, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  8. Leadership and negotiation skills.
  9. Strategic planning and organizational leadership capabilities.
  10. Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills, able to work across multiple stakeholders to influence outcomes and drive results.

The base salary range for this position in specified locations is $107,900 - $135,000/year. Compensation includes base salary, short-term and long-term incentives, and will consider factors such as location, responsibilities, qualifications, and business needs. The range may be adjusted in the future.
