Job summary

Element Materials Technology seeks an Aerospace Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across commercial aerospace, defense, space, and advanced aviation markets. You will identify opportunities, build executive relationships, and grow revenue through technical product and service sales.

The role requires deep aerospace knowledge and a track record in consultative selling within long, complex cycles spanning OEMs, Tier 1s, MROs, and government contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of business development, technical sales, or account management experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Proven success selling to aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, defense contractors, or airlines.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new aerospace business opportunities throughout North America.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools and disciplined opportunity management.
  • Lead the complete sales process from prospecting through contract negotiation and successful program launches.
  • Develop account growth strategies for existing customers while expanding into new accounts.
  • Establish long-term relationships with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, airlines, MROs, and defense contractors.
  • Conduct executive-level customer meetings to understand technical and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinate customer visits, facility tours, technical presentations, and proposal reviews.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned strategic accounts.
  • Monitor aerospace market trends, competitor activities, customer investments, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities within commercial aviation, military aerospace, space systems, UAVs, and advanced air mobility.
  • Represent the company at major aerospace trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
  • Provide market feedback to support new service development and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and program management to develop winning customer solutions.
  • Support quotation development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and annual business planning.
  • Ensure smooth transitions of new programs from sales to operations.
