We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager with a strong network within the hospitality and retail construction sectors. This individual will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with hotel brands, developers, ownership groups, and design firms, and driving revenue growth.
The ideal candidate has an established book of business in hospitality or retail development and understands the unique dynamics of construction in these industries—particularly around renovation cycles, brand standards, and fast-track project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within hospitality, retail, and mixed-use construction markets.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with hotel ownership groups, franchisees, brand representatives, architects, designers, and developers.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs and provide tailored construction solutions that align with their budgets, timelines, and brand standards.
- Lead the proposal and bid process, working closely with estimating and project management teams to prepare RFP responses, presentations, and client pitches.
- Track and report on business development activity, pipeline progress, and market trends.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and client meetings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnership development.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of business development or sales experience in general contracting or construction, ideally focused on hospitality, retail, or commercial interiors.
- Strong network of decision-makers within hotel brands, ownership groups, and developers.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel regionally or nationally as needed for client meetings and industry events.
