About The Role
The Manager of Business Development assumes overall accountability for lead generation and development, including prospecting, presentations, assisting in the creation of RFPs and proposals, and negotiating and closing deals. They will also be responsible for meeting territory sales goals.
As a Business Development Manager with EMS|MC, you will:
- Develop an advanced understanding of the EMS industry, including the unique needs and business challenges of prospective clients.
- Gain in-depth awareness of EMS|MC’s competitors and the strengths and weaknesses of their product offerings.
- Actively canvas and develop assigned sales territory, including prospect identification, lead generation, qualification, proposal and RFP assistance, negotiation, and closing.
- Attend trade shows and other marketing and networking events to generate leads.
- Network with trade organizations to promote awareness within the territory.
- Travel up to 50-75% of the time.
- Assist the marketing department with the RFP process as needed.
- Conduct all tasks professionally, respectfully, positively, and in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings for client issue resolution and improvement efforts.
- Support and demonstrate the company mission and values.
- Participate in company events, meetings, and committees.
- Provide backup support to Client Services and management team members.
Requirements
You will be successful if you:
- Have 3+ years of successful sales experience with a track record of meeting/exceeding quotas.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
- Have at least 1 year of experience with complex solution sales in the EMS industry.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of selling, managing, and creating sales growth.
- Experience selling to municipal and county governments.
- Understand cooperative purchasing laws and leverage them in sales.
- Experience with Revenue Cycle management is a plus.
- Have knowledge of long sales cycles and navigating them.
- Exhibit high integrity, honesty, and commitment.
- Proven success working remotely and managing large geographic territories.
- Ability to discuss software and hardware products/services intelligently, with 2+ years in healthcare billing.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, compliance, insurance, and payment methods.
- Effective in giving and receiving feedback professionally.
- Excellent communication skills, customer service, decision-making, and critical thinking.
- Proactive communication with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize.
- Highly organized, capable of working independently and within teams.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism, with a strong sense of confidentiality.
