Business Development Managers operate with significant autonomy and are expected to develop and manage their territory, industry specialization, referral network, and book of business.

Akrapoint focuses on equipment-intensive industries, including specialized vehicles and non-titled collateral. Successful representatives are expected to combine strong equipment and industry knowledge with direct-to-end-user business development.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Originate commercial equipment finance and leasing transactions through end-users, manufacturers, dealers, vendors, referrals, and other business-development channels.
  • Develop and grow an assigned territory, industry specialization, equipment segment, and/or book of business while meeting applicable production and profitability expectations.
  • Continually prospect, qualify, and develop new customer and referral relationships while expanding existing accounts and generating repeat business.
  • Build and maintain long-term manufacturer, dealer, vendor, and direct customer relationships, including recurring finance programs and referral opportunities.
  • Understand customer financing needs and recommend appropriate lease or financing structures within Company products, pricing, and credit parameters.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of applicable industries, equipment, markets, Company policies, products, and programs.
  • Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through credit approval, documentation, funding, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Work closely with Credit and Commercial Operations to provide accurate information, respond to requests, resolve issues, and efficiently move transactions toward funding.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and complete, accurate CRM records regarding customers, vendors, opportunities, activity, and applicable remarketing information.
  • Travel to meet customers and referral partners and attend trade shows, industry events, and association meetings as appropriate, while operating within approved travel and entertainment budgets.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate service; maintain a professional appearance and attitude; and represent the Company professionally in all business interactions.
  • Leverage customer relationships to assist with collections, repossessions, collateral recovery, remarketing, or other portfolio matters when appropriate.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Approximately 2 - 5+ years of successful equipment finance, equipment leasing, commercial finance, capital-equipment sales, or relevant B2B sales experience.
  • Established industry relationships and book of business preferred.
  • Experience with specialized vehicles, industrial equipment, non-titled collateral, or other equipment-intensive industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial equipment finance, leasing, transaction structure, pricing, amortization, collateral, and basic commercial credit concepts.
  • Strong prospecting, consultative selling, negotiation, relationship-management, and closing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain responsiveness with business owners, executives, manufacturers, dealers, and other commercial decision-makers.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to independently manage a substantial pipeline, travel schedule, and multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills, responsiveness, commercial judgment, and commitment to accurate CRM and transaction information.
