  • Demonstrated success generating new business through outbound prospecting.
  • Proven experience managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-sale engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional business development strategy aligned with company growth and revenue objectives.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with new clients throughout the assigned territory.
  • Manage the complete sales lifecycle from initial outreach and discovery through proposals, negotiation, closing, and continued account development.
  • Develop existing client relationships to identify additional service opportunities and increase account penetration.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, business reviews, and onsite facility visits.
  • Maintain an active pipeline and accurate sales activity, opportunity, and forecasting information within Salesforce.
  • Partner with recruiting, operations, quality, finance, and leadership to address client workforce and operational challenges.
  • Represent MS Companies at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and professional associations.

Location: Greater Indianapolis, IN | Hybrid – Carmel HQ + Regional Travel

Salary Range: $80,000–$95,000 Base + Uncapped Commission + Performance Bonus

Job Summary

MS Companies is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager to grow our presence throughout the Greater Indianapolis market and surrounding regional territory.

Headquartered in Carmel, Indiana, MS Companies provides workforce, recruiting, quality, and operational solutions to clients across automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, and other industrial markets.

This is a full-cycle, outbound business development role focused on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, developing client relationships, closing new business, and expanding existing partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional who is comfortable prospecting into manufacturing organizations and building relationships with decision-makers such as Plant Managers, Operations Managers, Quality Leaders, and Human Resources leaders.

This is a hybrid, field-focused position. The Business Development Manager will work from home and our Carmel corporate office while typically spending 3–4 days per week in the field meeting with prospects and clients throughout the assigned territory.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of B2B business development, outside sales, or related full-cycle sales experience
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through outbound prospecting
  • Proven experience managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, opportunity identification, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-sale engagement
  • Experience developing relationships with operational and executive-level decision-makers
  • Ability to build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline while consistently working toward revenue goals
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or another CRM platform
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned regional territory

Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Business development experience within staffing, workforce solutions, recruiting, outsourced labor, consulting, or professional services
  • Experience selling into automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or other industrial markets
  • Knowledge of workforce solutions including contingent staffing, direct-hire recruiting, quality inspection, containment, consulting, or outsourced operational support
  • Experience engaging decision-makers such as Plant Managers, Quality Managers, Operations Managers, HR Managers, and senior business leaders
  • Existing relationships or a strong professional network within the Indiana manufacturing and industrial community
  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other prospecting and sales intelligence tools
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Physical and Environment Requirements

Physical expectations and working conditions associated with this role may include:

  • Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods
  • Frequent regional travel for prospect meetings, client visits, networking events, and business development activities
  • Regular travel to manufacturing and industrial facilities
  • Occasional use of standard personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses or steel-toe footwear, when required by a client facility
