Job summary

Shimmick Corporation seeks a Business Development Manager in Texas to drive pipeline, sales and revenue across infrastructure markets. You will work with teams to develop opportunities, manage the CRM pipeline, and own the end-to-end sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Finance/Economics or related field and 6+ years of BD/sales experience, with leadership exposure. Local travel to Austin/Dallas areas is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field and 6+ years of BD/sales experience, with 2 years in leadership.
  • Preferred experience in Federal, Industrial, nuclear, or Water/Wastewater sectors.
  • Understanding of commercial contract terms and negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive pipeline, sales and revenue targets in collaboration with Shimmick teams.
  • Own the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.
  • Manage a CRM-based sales pipeline and report to leadership.
  • Develop pursuit strategy and manage relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Attend industry events to build local opportunities and partnerships.

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Business Development Manager. This position will be based in Texas, in either greater Austin or Dallas Fort Worth areas with travel as required to support your assigned business units.

Responsibilities

For the role of Business Development Manager, the ideal candidate should be a self-motivated individual who will work independently and in collaboration with other Shimmick teams to drive pipeline, sales and revenue targets. A Business Development Manager typically has the following daily responsibilities:

Client Relations
  • Managing virtual and in-person sales meetings.
  • Running outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails, etc.) to create sales opportunities.
  • Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new clients customized for each client’s specific business needs.
  • Developing rapport with key decision makers.
  • Communicating with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service through regular client follow up.
  • Creating positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients.
Stakeholder / Industry Relations
  • Developing industry relationships across the supply chain, including joint venture partners, design consulting firms, subcontractors, community leaders and others.
  • Put in place Teaming Agreements with strong joint venture partners and design consulting firms to maximize team competitiveness.
  • Analyzing strengths and weaknesses of potential partnership and advise management on the most beneficial relationships and strategy for the desired outcomes.
  • Attend and participate in industry outreach and informational events to gain local contacts and identify possible project work for the Company.
Sales Management
  • Managing a high-quality CRM based sales pipeline.
  • Understanding the commercial interests of the company and negotiating directly or advising management in contract negotiations for the most effective risk profile for the company.
  • Ensuring the company has the necessary pipeline size and quality to support revenue and sales targets.
  • Developing short-mid-long term sales projections and presenting to management and the company Board when requested.
  • Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field + 6 years of relevant business development/sales experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience developing business opportunities and cultivating client relationships within the Federal, Industrial, nuclear, and/or Water/Wastewater construction industries.
  • Proven experience with private owners/clients.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions.
  • Proven ability to manage sales pipelines and develop pursuit strategy for complex infrastructure or similar projects.
  • Proven ability to initiate and develop personal and professional relationships in the industry.
  • Able to identify, prioritize, organize and track construction projects at every segment of the project lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to identify inconsistencies or outliers in contract specifications that could increase Company risk or expense.
  • Proven ability to identify, measure and facilitate the needs of the Owner during the pre-bid, bid and project phases to support positive Company relationship through the life of the project.

The salary range for this position is between $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year depending on experience and/or education.

  • Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA.
  • The Company also provides employer paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Additional voluntary benefit offerings include pet insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance, legal and identity theft protection.
  • These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week.
  • Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
