Are you a dynamic and driven professional with a passion for fostering growth and building strong relationships? Join our team as a Business Development Executive and become the lead field contact for our assigned agents, driving profitable growth and expanding our business footprint. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with both existing independent agencies and spearhead the development of new business opportunities. Reporting directly to the Director of Regional Sales, you will have the autonomy to work remotely from your home in Massachusetts while also engaging in fieldwork to build and nurture key relationships. You will report to Director, Regional Sales.

Position Compensation Range:

$97,000.00 - $164,000.00

Pay Rate Type:

Salary

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Prospect and appoint and appoints agents in conjunction with the overall regional strategy for expansion of distribution outlets.
  • Use market analytics to assess geographic territory to identify prospect and current customers with highest growth potential.
  • Appoint new customers based on book transfer or significant flow potential
  • Identify vulnerable competitors within assigned agency plant to leverage book roll and or book thinning opportunities.
  • Build detailed business plans for assigned agents.
  • Determine appropriate visitation and establish an agreed to contact schedule for assigned agents based on book transfer and flow opportunities.
  • Territory and region knowledge including agency, competitor, demographics and economic trends.

Specialized Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the territory and the region including agency competitor demographics and economic trends.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate an organization and leverage relationships to achieve results; demonstrate resiliency.
  • Strong knowledge of business process improvement methodologies and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated sales experience.

Additional Experience:

  • 5+ years commercial and/or personal lines insurance sales experience.


In this remote role you will work from your home in VA and travel within the state.
