Overview

The Industrial Water market is a niche business requiring dedicated expertise. Our experience shows that a key differentiator is the ability to identify correct treatment solutions and demonstrate expertise in implementing them. As a Business Development Director, you will work with the Industrial Water Market leader to develop and execute aggressive sales and marketing strategies to meet corporate and project goals, ensuring profitability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and identifying prospects, executing sales outreach
  • Communicating with prospects until projects are secured and after completion
  • Collaborating with Market Leaders, Design Managers, Project Directors, and clients to develop concepts, minimize rework, and ensure high client satisfaction
  • Partnering with marketing on proposals, digital presence, trade shows, and marketing strategies
  • Supporting project teams with background information and presentation strategies
  • Representing the company at industry events and technical summits
  • Partnering with leadership on client acquisition, market research, and targeting strategies
  • Guiding Business Development teams on outreach, correspondence, selling techniques, and presentations
  • Leading market-specific presentations and supporting project teams
  • Coordinating with engineering to identify technical needs and strategies
  • Supporting Project Directors with pursuit development and capture strategies
  • Participating in industry organizations (AWWA, WEF, etc.)
  • Traveling as required
  • Performing other duties as needed

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments, as well as residuals management
  • Knowledge of wastewater permitting requirements at various government levels
  • Understanding of alternative treatment processes
  • High level of client confidence and satisfaction, demonstrated through feedback and internal observations
  • Effective communication skills to bridge technical and operational contexts

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or relevant Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in the industrial water market

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

Ability to visit various locations, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift/move 10-50 pounds, and operate equipment with good hand-eye coordination. Sit, reach, talk, and hear frequently required.
