Job summary

Zuellig Pharma in the United States is seeking a senior business development professional to expand strategic client relationships with US-based pharmaceutical and CRO clients, driving growth for the Clinical Trial Support unit.

You will build multi-layered client relationships, manage RFI/RFP processes, and coordinate with global BD teams to achieve revenue targets while upholding the company's values and governance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business / supply chain & logistic / Life Science (or equivalent).
  • 8–10 years in Business Development selling to pharma/Clinical Trial Industry.
  • Extensive understanding of pharma and biotech R&D and CRO industry.
  • Sales skills and strategic account development and leadership.
  • Familiarity with Western and Asian business culture.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills.
  • GMP/GCP/GDP awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Manages portfolio accounts with growth and retention strategies and measurable milestones.
  • Builds and maintains multi-layered client relationships.
  • Coordinates with BD teams to meet key budget objectives for target clients.

Purpose of the Role:

The primary focus of the role is to develop business and strategic client relations primarily with US-based clients, with the intention to drive accelerated growth objectives for the Clinical Trial Support Business Unit.

This is achieved by building collaborative relationships with identified target clients and by correctly identifying appropriate decision makers and influencers. To be responsible for meeting financial targets of specific clients or market assigned.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manages the portfolio of accounts assigned by developing and executing a specific growth & retention strategy with clearly measurable milestones to meet short- and long-term growth expectations.
  • Builds and maintains multi-layered/functional client relationships.
  • Works with corporate and market BD teams and coordinates activities related to target clients with view of meeting key A/C budget objectives.
  • Manages the RFI/RFP/RFQ and structured due diligence/qualification process initiated by clients till final disposition (follow through) and rallies for internal support.
  • Prepares and presents solutions, presentations and proposals/study budgets that appropriately convey the Company’s value proposition and brand image.
  • Expand customer base through new Client development in the Territory.
  • Network with clients and prospect customers within the framework of the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Monitors business performance metrics (KPIs) for reliable KA performance measurement.
  • Top line revenue planning and budgeting for accounts assigned to support overall growth plan
  • Assists all KAMs and drives growth and brand awareness, being the representative and the face to the company in related/assigned area for all clients.
  • Initiates, coordinates and expedites the process of MSA negotiation. Oversee the Quality Agreement review process till completion.
  • Monitors industry trends and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities or threats and reports these regularly to the HQ.
  • Assists as needed with marketing and branding activities, incl. conferences in the assigned area/territory.
  • Builds ZPCR brand through frequent customer interaction and marketing.
  • Assists with the management, supervision or audit of certain vendors (usually couriers, depots, wholesalers) based in the assigned territory as requested.
What will make you successful:
Must-Have:
  • Degree in Business /supply chain & logistic/ Life Science (or equivalent)
  • Min 8 to 10 years as Business Development in selling to pharma/Clinical Trial Industry
  • Extensive understanding of pharma and biotech R&D and CRO industry
  • Sales skills and strategic account development and leadership
  • Sound familiarity with Western and Asian business culture
  • Astute business acumen and sound commercial decision-making capability
  • Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills
  • GMP/GCP/GDP awareness
