A leading company in translational research is seeking a Business Development Director to manage leads and opportunities in preclinical research services. The role requires strong communication and consultative selling skills, with a preference for candidates with a PhD or Masters. Virscio is a specialty translational research organization developing and providing innovative in vivo disease modeling, histopathology, and molecular preclinical research and development services to meet the translational, and regulatory research needs of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. We specialize in the fields of ophthalmology, central nervous system, cardiovascular, metabolic, and immunology related disease and disorders, and have advanced discovery and development programs for a wide network of sponsors, collaborators, and partners around the world, ranging from large pharmaceutical companies and venture-backed biotechnology companies to academic teams seeking to apply the most cutting-edge research and development strategies in the most efficient and robust manner.
What will you do?
The BDD will be responsible for generating, qualifying, and managing leads and opportunities related to Virscio’s full suite of preclinical research service offerings, including Research Models, Preclinical Research Services, GLP Safety/Toxicology, Histology/Pathology Services, and Molecular Research Services, with overall responsibility for managing a robust pipeline of opportunities while achieving defined booking targets. The BDD will leverage current and future relationships, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish business development goals that align to company objectives while leading and/or supporting capability development within the business development function. The BDD will have a clear understanding of the preclinical market segment and ability to thoughtfully articulate Virscio’s differentiated R&D capabilities relative to alternative R&D service providers, including the value and rational for the use of nonhuman primates in research and development.
