Alliant is a premier consulting and technology firm headquartered in Houston, TX. The Business Development Associate role supports the sales cycle from proposal development to client relationship building, working alongside seasoned professionals and Technical Directors.

Responsibilities include crafting customized proposals, preparing executive presentations, maintaining CRM records, and coordinating discovery meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in business development, sales support, account management, marketing, or another client-facing role.
  • Strong desire to build a long-term career in enterprise business development and consultative sales.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with executives, owners, and advisers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States; Houston relocation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales process by preparing proposals, executive presentations, value propositions, pricing summaries, SOWs, and client-facing materials using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and internal templates.
  • Prepare pipeline reports and sales activity summaries for leadership to support forecasting and planning.
  • Assist new client activities, follow-ups, and tracking opportunities through each sales stage.
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM records, activities, notes, and opportunity stages for data integrity and forecasting.
  • Track proposal status, contract progression, and client communications to meet deadlines.
  • Research prospective clients, industries, and market trends to tailor business solutions across Alliant’s service lines.
  • Attend client discovery meetings to understand objectives and document findings for follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate sales meetings, discovery sessions, and presentations; ensure action items are completed on schedule.
  • Collaborate with marketing to leverage campaigns, events, webinars, and conferences to drive pipeline growth.

Job description

As a Business Development Associate, you will be working alongside experienced Business Development professionals and Technical Directors. You will be supporting the sales cycle from proposal development, engagement execution and building client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Support the sales process by preparing customized proposals, executive presentations, value propositions, pricing summaries, Statements of Work (SOWs), and other client‑facing materials utilizing PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and internal presentation templates
  • Prepare pipeline reports, sales activity summaries, and opportunity updates for leadership to support forecasting and strategic planning
  • Support new client activities, follow‑up activities, and tracking opportunities through each stage of the sales process
  • Accurately maintain and take ownership of all prospect and client records, activities, communications, meeting notes, and opportunity stages within Salesforce CRM to ensure data integrity, forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility
  • Track proposal status, contract progression, and client communications while ensuring deadlines and commitments are met
  • Research prospective clients, industries, and market trends to help develop tailored business solutions and identify opportunities across Alliant's six service lines
  • Participate in client discovery meetings to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and growth initiatives while documenting key findings and coordinating appropriate follow‑up actions
  • Coordinate sales meetings, discovery sessions, executive presentations, and follow‑up activities while ensuring all action items are completed on schedule
  • Partner with marketing to leverage campaigns, events, webinars, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives to generate prospect engagement and support pipeline growth

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States
  • Preferred candidate will reside or relocate to Houston
