Summary

The Business Development Analyst will work closely with colleagues in the Business Development Department (BD) and across the firm’s business professional departments to support the Litigation, Regulatory and Antitrust practices through market monitoring, research and analysis. A primary objective of the position is to monitor and track key client, prospect and market developments to help identify opportunities, strengthen relationships and position the firm for new business opportunities.

The position requires intellectual curiosity, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, exceptional attention to detail, a team-oriented attitude and the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of assigned Litigation, Regulatory and Antitrust practices, partners, clients and prospects in order to proactively identify and communicate actionable business development opportunities
• Assist in establishing, updating and monitoring news alerts on clients, prospects and other relevant entities through available firm resources
• Conduct competitive intelligence, market, company and industry research to support business development initiatives
• Collect, analyze and leverage internal and external data to identify potential business development opportunities and market trends
• Identify, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources into clear, concise and actionable deliverables
• Collaborate with senior business development professionals and team members across all levels to support research, monitoring and business development initiatives, while developing an understanding of the firm’s practices, clients, matters, competitors and market position
• Coordinate with the firm’s Business Intelligence team to support in-depth research on companies, industries, market developments and emerging trends
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of prospecting trackers, monitoring tools and other business development resources
• Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s internal systems and data resources and effectively integrate them with external research
• Assist in the preparation of substantive analysis and business development materials in support of pitches, client opportunities, strategic planning initiatives and other attorney-facing projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two to four years of experience in an analyst, competitive intelligence, market research, business development or related role
• Familiarity with legal industry and business terminology preferred, but not required
• Strong intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
• Excellent research, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands and meet time-sensitive deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use discretion, exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Experience using company, financial, legal and market intelligence research platforms preferred

• Experience using, or a demonstrated interest in learning, artificial intelligence tools to improve research, analysis and business development effectiveness
• Overtime work is sometimes required, as needed

Compensation: $125,000.00 annually plus bonus
