Job summary

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) seeks an accomplished strategic executive to serve as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy & Solutions Officer. The EVP will lead the enterprise strategy function and, with the CEO and ELT, guide development and execution of an enterprise agenda.

The role translates Opportunity Next into a sequenced, measurable plan and leads solutions addressing evolving CDFI industry needs.

Qualifications

  • Fifteen+ years of progressively responsible leadership in enterprise strategy, finance, investment, consulting, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with CDFI business models and capital needs is preferred; direct CDFI experience not required.
  • Significant experience translating long-term direction into focused priorities and measurable results.
  • Proven record developing strategies, partnerships, programs, or initiatives addressing complex market needs.
  • Experience leading high-performing cross-functional teams with clear governance and milestones.
  • Experience across private, public, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors; navigating diverse incentives.
  • Ability to use data, market intel, and impact findings to inform strategic choices and strengthen performance.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and capital deployment in community development.
  • Experience advising senior executives and boards on enterprise strategy and institutional direction.
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, economics, or public policy preferred but not required.

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is the nation's leading investment intermediary and national network of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). For nearly four decades, OFN has expanded economic opportunity by mobilizing capital, strengthening financial institutions, and advancing public policy that supports underserved communities across the United States.

With more than $1 billion in assets under management and a national network of nearly 500 mission-driven lenders, OFN works at the intersection of finance, policy, and impact. Its members include community development loan funds, credit unions, green banks, community development banks, Minority Depository Institutions, venture capital funds, and other mission-driven financial institutions serving rural, urban, and Native communities.

Summary

OFN seeks an accomplished strategic executive to serve asExecutive Vice President, Chief Strategy & Solutions Officer.

The EVP, Chief Strategy & Solutions Officer will lead OFN's enterprise strategy function and, in partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, guide the development and execution of enterprise strategy. The role will translate Opportunity Next into a focused, sequenced, and measurable enterprise agenda and lead the development of solutions that address the evolving needs of the CDFI industry and the communities it serves.

The EVP will serve as a principal strategic advisor to the CEO, bringing independent judgment, market intelligence, and an enterprise-wide perspective to consequential institutional decisions.

The EVP will provide direct executive leadership to OFN's Innovation and Impact teams. The EVP will guide the Innovation Initiative as a structured platform for identifying, testing, and advancing solutions to persistent and emerging industry challenges. The EVP will also lead OFN's approach to impact measurement, ensuring that evidence and insights inform enterprise strategy, strengthen solutions, and demonstrate the outcomes of OFN’s work.

Requirements
  • Fifteen or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enterprise strategy, finance, investment, consulting, community development, innovation, impact, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the CDFI industry, particularly the business models and capital needs of community development loan funds, is preferred. Direct experience working within a CDFI is not required.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise strategy and translating long-term direction into focused priorities, executable initiatives, and measurable results.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategies, solutions, partnerships, programs, products, services, or institutional initiatives that address complex market or community needs.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and complex, cross-functional initiatives, with a record of establishing clear scope, governance, responsibilities, milestones, and accountability.
  • Experience working with or across private, public, philanthropic, and nonprofit institutions and navigating the different perspectives, incentives, and decision-making environments represented across those sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, market intelligence, research, and impact findings to inform strategic choices, evaluate opportunities, and strengthen organizational performance.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, capital deployment, institutional partnerships, community development finance, or related fields.
  • Experience advising senior executives and engaging boards on enterprise strategy, institutional direction, performance, or other consequential organizational decisions.
  • An advanced degree in business, finance, economics, public policy, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $300,000 - $325,000,
