Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a seasoned Business Data Scientist to help drive a data-driven culture around insight generation, decision making, and strategy for our business products. You will embed with Customer Success, measure engagement, and surface actionable insights to improve activation, onboarding, and feature adoption.

In this role, you will collaborate with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, build self-serve data tools, and lead analyses that inform strategy and growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Data Science experience in dynamic, outcome-driven organizations.
• Expertise in statistics and causal inference, applied in both experimentation and observational causal inference studies.
• Proficiency in Python and R.
• Strong SQL skills with large data extraction and ETL workflow design.
• Experience using BI tools such as Mode, Tableau, and Looker.

Responsibilities

• Embed with the Customer Success organization as a trusted partner to boost adoption and engagement of OpenAI business products.
• Establish metrics, run experiments, and analyze to understand incrementality of initiatives driving adoption and engagement.
• Proactively surface insights and opportunities to improve engagement and growth.
• Build tools and systems enabling stakeholders to self-serve routine data and insights.
• Partner with Data Eng, Finance, and other teams to self-serve underlying data and derive insights.
• Collaborate with other data scientists to share knowledge and synthesize learnings across the organization.
