Position Title: Business Banking Underwriter 1

Business Unit: Credit

Reports To: Business Banking Underwriting Team Leader

Position Overview

Responsible for analyzing financial data of current and prospective commercial loan customers, including spreading financial statements, analyzing industry and economic conditions, completing cash flow analyses, and performing credit investigations to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risk. The role involves working on loans of lower complexity with oversight, providing high-quality service to customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze borrower creditworthiness, identify key credit issues, and prepare comprehensive written analyses following policies and procedures.
• Utilize software tools to complete financial spreads, risk ratings, covenant tests, and cash flow analyses accurately and timely.
• Research industry, economic, and borrower data from various sources to support lending decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of banking, credit analysis, policies, and procedures, demonstrating interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaborate on process improvements and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA or BS)
• At least 1 year of relevant experience

Skills

• Excellent project management, communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Proficiency in MS Word (Basic), MS Excel (Intermediate), MS PowerPoint (Basic)
• Knowledge of commercial lending practices, underwriting, banking policies, procedures, and regulations
