Overview

This role serves as a liaison between the company and agents, acting as a relationship manager for agents, regional underwriting, and corporate departments. It involves working with agents in supported and unsupported territories, focusing on new business submissions and digital interactions. The position is primarily inside-office, with occasional travel to meet agency partners. All duties must comply with legal and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with agents to write profitable new business, achieve agency goals, and support busy AMS with overflow.
  2. Market and underwrite small and large accounts according to underwriting standards and criteria.
  3. Make consistent underwriting decisions, adhere to pricing philosophies, and promote ease of doing business via digital channels.
  4. Monitor agency results, follow up on growth, profitability, and compliance, and find solutions to problems.
  5. Develop professional relationships with agents, regional teams, claims, and corporate departments.
  6. Maintain open communication with agents, encouraging the use of all Selective systems.
  7. Stay informed about industry developments and changes that could affect the company.
  8. Assist with regional needs, including coverage on accounts and book roll opportunities.
  9. May involve limited automobile travel to assigned agents, representing about 5% of work time.

Qualifications

  • Strong marketing skills, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and internal software.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing for occasional travel.
