Job summary

BankWest - South Dakota seeks a Business Banking Assistant to support loan origination, renewal, and maintenance with a focus on quality assurance of documents. You will collaborate with Business Development Officers, Portfolio Managers, and Quality Control to ensure compliance with audit and policy requirements.

The role involves verifying documentation, assisting with compliant submissions, and performing post-closing quality checks.

Qualifications

• Education: a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years lending and loan documentation preferred.
• Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
• Ability to learn regulatory requirements related to duties.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify loan documentation required for origination and renewal of Business Banking loans; per checklist definitions.
• Assist BDO/Portfolio Manager to ensure compliant submission of loan documents to Credit Department or Analyst Team.
• Verify work quality for each file; provide QA for all Business Banking files before closing documents are drawn.
• Complete validation, approvals, and submission of loan set-up sheets for all loan types; ensure documents are drawn correctly.
• Perform final review and validation of printed loan documents prior to customer signature; resolve exceptions with Loan Operations.
• Represent BDO/Portfolio Manager to close loan with customer; disburse funds, prepare tickets, document Loan Comments, activate loans.
• Perform post-close documentation quality check; complete loan checklist and final verification with Credit Memo.
• Update ticklers for renewed loans and establish ticklers for new loans; follow-up on tickler disposition.
• Post-closing work to ensure proper collateral, title, UCC searches, and perfection of security interest.
• Prepare, index, and scan loan documents timely; organize and retain required documents.
• Provide customer service to borrowers as directed by Branch President or BDO/Portfolio Manager; process maintenance requests and loan payoff.
