Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the clerical and receptionist activities of the Patient Care Unit under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, Nurse Manager and Program Director.
  • Maintain service excellence and professional image.
  • Demonstrate respect, confidentiality, and strong communication with patients and staff.
  • Answer phones promptly and courteously, introducing self and department.
  • Keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Anticipate patient needs and assist as necessary.
  • Support privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Provide patient/family welcome and assistance.
  • Assist with interdepartmental communications and workflow.
  • Contribute to fiscal integrity of Greenwich Fertility.

The Unit Secretary coordinates the clerical and receptionist activities of the Patient Care Unit under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, Nurse Manager and Program Director. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/ department's policies and procedures
