Harborstone Credit Union in Anacortes, WA seeks a Business Associate to support loan operations, onboarding, and compliance within the business lending portfolio. You will coordinate with Loan Officers, borrowers, and vendors to ensure accuracy and timely processing of documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a financial institution.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain business relationships within our Loan Origination System (LOS).
• Ensure onboarding and maintenance of borrower, guarantor, affiliate, collateral, and loan records.
• Facilitate efficient loan origination and processing activities.
• Collect and track borrower documentation such as applications and financial statements.
• Coordinate vendor services and order reports (title, flood, UCC, environmental).
• Ensure documentation is received on time and accurate.
• Support loan closings and routine servicing requests.
• Monitor exception reports, past-due loans, and maturities.
• Assist with construction loan administration as needed.

About the Role

As a Business Associate, you'll be an integral member of our Business Lending Support team, helping drive the success of Harborstone's business lending portfolio. You'll provide operational, administrative, and compliance support throughout the loan process while working closely with Loan Officers, borrowers, and vendors to ensure an exceptional member experience.

What You'll Do

Support Business Loan Operations

• Create and maintain business relationships within our Loan Origination System (LOS).
• Ensure accurate onboarding and maintenance of borrower, guarantor, affiliate, collateral, and loan records.
• Help facilitate efficient loan origination and processing activities.
• Collect and track borrower documentation, including applications, financial statements, and supporting reports.
• Coordinate vendor services and order required reports such as:
  • Preliminary title reports
  • Flood certifications
  • UCC searches
  • Environmental due diligence reports
• Ensure documentation is received accurately and within required timelines.

Ensure Compliance & Accuracy

• Gather and review entity organizational documents.
• Verify ownership structures and signing authorities.
• Maintain accurate records to support lending compliance requirements and credit file integrity.

Deliver Exceptional Member Support

• Serve as a secondary point of contact for business members and borrowers.
• Assist with routine servicing requests and issue resolution.
• Support Loan Officers in facilitating smooth and timely loan closings.

Additional Opportunities to Make an Impact

• Monitor exception reports, past-due loans, and upcoming maturities.
• Create and maintain credit files.
• Review loan documents for accuracy and compliance with approved terms.
• Prepare adverse action and covenant non-compliance notifications.
• Assist with construction loan administration and project monitoring as needed.
