JOB SUMMARY:

Our dynamic Ethos team is seeking a full-time Business Application Support Specialist (REMOTE) to administer, maintain, and optimize our core business applications. This role blends elements of system administration, performance monitoring, technical troubleshooting, and application support to ensure operational continuity. Our ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented IT professional with 8 to 15 years of experience in application support, system administration, database administration, and troubleshooting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical Support: Support end users and other departmental leads with ongoing issues within the existing ticket system. Server support (Windows/IIS/.NET within AWS and Microsoft 365 environments).
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve Application Issues: Identify, diagnose, document, coordinate, and resolve application-related issues.
  • System Monitoring: Investigate and respond to system alerts and develop playbooks for incident response.
  • Bug Reporting & Tracking: Log, track, communicate, and assist in resolving technical bugs. Work closely with application QA and development to prioritize & determine resolution for application problems.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures, user guides, and other application-related support functions.
  • Software Updates & Patching: Participate in ongoing systems patching and other system maintenance exercises.
  • Performance Optimization: Develop baseline performance metrics, continuously assess changes to the expected performance level of the application, and suggest/implement performance improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of various IT experience with a focus on application support, systems administration, and troubleshooting (required).
  • Familiarity with web applications, client/server models, and cloud-based solutions (preferred).
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting client/server applications (preferred).
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network-related issues in cloud environments (VPC, security rules, firewalls, load balancing).
  • Understanding of relational databases (MS-SQL, Oracle, MySQL) and basic scripting (PowerShell, Python).
  • Ability to categorize, prioritize, and manage multiple workloads effectively.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify operational efficiencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Certifications: AWS, Microsoft 365, or ITIL certifications (bonus).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is remote (US hours) but a strong preference for candidates located near Broussard, LA to occasionally travel to our office. Occasional exposure to overtime or working more than 8 hours in a day due to project demands. Constant communication via telephone and virtual platforms with clients, customers, and co-workers.
