Job summary

Brigham Young University in Provo, UT is seeking a Business Application Administrator to support production cloud-based systems and manage integrations, configurations, and releases. The role interfaces with IT staff, end users, and vendors to ensure reliable software operations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and strong problem-solving, training, and communication skills. The position is part-time (28 hours/week) with competitive benefits and BYU perks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; cloud-based software administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with OneAegis, Kuali Research, CITI and Brightspot is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support for production cloud systems and troubleshoot issues to maintain uptime.
  • Maintain development, test, staging and production environments for smooth operations.
  • Track vendor release schedules; coordinate testing and installation of new software versions.
  • Migrate applications from test to production; develop test scripts and perform validation.
  • Serve as an end-user SME; provide training and respond to configuration questions.
  • Liaise with IT Help Desk to update knowledge base and assist staff.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop user training materials and deliver trainings.
  • Create reports from cloud vendor systems and perform data corrections as needed.
  • Manage application roles and permissions; document maintenance steps for vendors.
  • Coordinate with cloud website provider to update and maintain dept websites (Brightspot).

The ideal candidate will have strong problem analysis skills. The position interacts regularly with other Information Technology staff as well as end users and vendor personnel, thus requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills. The BAA serves as chair of the Systems Governance committee and level 3 support with responsibility for configuration, coordination, communication of changes to systems functions and problem troubleshooting and resolution as the primary interface with cloud-based vendor providers.What you'll be doing in this positionSoftware Management and TrainingProvides daily support of multiple mission critical production systems, including the troubleshooting of production problems and determination of root cause of issuesMaintains application and data environments for development, test, staging, and production.Tracks vendor software release schedules; coordinates testing and installation of new versions of software. Migrates applications from test environments to the production environment. Including developing Test Scripts: Conducts functional testing and validation to ensure exceptional user experience.Supports end users as an application subject matter expert by responding to questions about application configuration, capabilities, and functionality.Liaison with (Level 1) support through IT Help Desk to create and maintain their Knowledge Base.Work with other staff and students in their System Support (Level 2). Work with dept associate directors to develop user training materials and teach end users.Create reports within cloud-based vendor reports systems.
