Purpose Of Job

Provide efficient and skillful administrative and office management support to the Division of Business and Finance. This position offers technical assistance district-wide on finance procedures to ensure alignment with district policies and the strategic plan.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, welcoming vendors, ordering supplies, and preparing documents.
  • Maintain and track purchase orders and related documentation.
  • Assist the CFO in supporting departments like Accounting, Benefits, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Budget, Purchasing, and Business Services.
  • Prepare requisitions and maintain expenditure records.
  • Organize work and develop office procedures for efficiency.
  • Support and oversee finance projects.
  • Train staff on business and finance procedures, including LINQ financial system.
  • Present policies to staff.
  • Maintain the Business and Finance procedures manual.
  • Coordinate and implement large projects independently.
  • Process travel requests.
  • Collaborate with other departments on new initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of budget and payroll tracking
  • Familiarity with office equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Teamwork ability aligned with strategic goals
Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

Terms of Employment

12 months, 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week, totaling 260 work days.

Benefits include health and dental insurance, KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan (employee contribution 9% plus match), and voluntary savings plans.
