Our client a well known Financial Services Company is seeking a Scrum Master in their Charlotte, North Carolina Location
Role Summary
The Business Analyst / Scrum Master is a hybrid responsible for functional requirements definition and Agile delivery execution for the GRC platform.
This role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, work is sprint ready, Agile ceremonies are effective, and delivery progresses predictably through build, testing, and release.
The ideal candidate is hands on, detail oriented, and comfortable operating in a regulated, multi stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analyst Responsibilities
Support and maintain BRDs, FRDs, and functional specifications including:
- Workflow steps and decision points
- Data attributes and validations
- Role based behaviors and permissions
- Edge cases and exception handling
- Create and maintain JIRA stories with well defined acceptance criteria
- Support reporting and data requirements intake (Day 1, Day 2, BAU, audit driven)
- Act as the functional point of contact for developers and vendors during sprint execution
- Triage functional questions, defects, and enhancement requests
- Coordinate UAT by:
- Defining test scenarios and scripts
- Clarifying expected behavior
- Consolidating and validating business feedback
- Sprint planning
- Daily standups
- Sprint reviews
- Ensure sprint backlog readiness and adherence to Agile best practices
- Partner with the Product Owner and PM to support sprint sequencing and capacity planning
- Track sprint progress, risks, and impediments
- Remove blockers and improve team flow
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and delivery metrics
- Ensure transparency and clear communication across delivery teams
Cross Functional & Delivery Support
- Coordinate closely with:
- Product Owners (priorities and acceptance)
- Project Managers (planning, dependencies, releases)
- Tech Leads (design and configuration)
- Support release readiness activities including UAT completion and functional signoff
- Identify change impacts and support training and communication inputs
- Contribute to improving requirement standards, templates, and delivery processes
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Scrum Master, or hybrid BA/Scrum role
- Strong experience in Agile / Scrum delivery within enterprise technology environments
- Proven experience writing BRDs, FRDs, and detailed functional requirements
- Hands-on experience working with JIRA (stories, workflows, backlog management)
- Experience supporting UAT planning and execution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Experience working in regulated industries (financial services, risk, compliance, audit, or security)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GRC platforms (SAI360, Archer, ServiceNow GRC, OneTrust, or similar)
- Regulatory assessments
- Compliance monitoring and testing
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience working with third-party vendors in a delivery capacity
- Exposure to reporting tools (Power BI, data extracts, dashboards)
