OVERVIEW OF THE AGENCY AND THE POSITION
The Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission is an independent agency that oversees law enforcement departments and officers throughout the Commonwealth. The Commission is charged with the following:
The Commission is governed by, and enforces, Chapter 6E of the Massachusetts General Laws. Pursuant to that statute, the Commission collaborates with the Commonwealth’s Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) in several areas of its work.
The POST Commission is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst / Project Manager (BA/PM) to join our Information Technology Division. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in shaping the Commission’s data and technology strategies. The successful candidate will apply both analytical and technical expertise to develop, maintain, and enhance data-driven solutions that serve a vital public mission.
In this position, the BA/PM will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver user-focused solutions, leveraging agile project management methodologies and modern technologies. Your work will directly impact the Commission’s ability to innovate and operate efficiently, ensuring that technology aligns seamlessly with business goals.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Functions:
The IT Business Analyst and Project Manager (BA/PM) plays a critical role in understanding and interpreting the POST Commission’s service framework and business objectives. This individual will act as a strategic liaison between Commission leadership and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of business needs and priorities. The BA/PM will analyze and document business processes, collaborating closely with operational staff to design solutions that support efficient workflows and high-quality service delivery. A strong advocate for user experience, the BA/PM will champion solutions that meet the needs of diverse user groups. This position is responsible for aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance services and address emerging challenges.

SALARY RANGE
Anticipated range: $85,000 - $95,000.
